B.A. in Media Communication Curriculum

The Bachelor of Arts in Media Communication degree curriculum includes core major courses, general education courses and elective courses with the goal of broadening a student’s self-understanding and ability to engage and transform diverse cultures.

This 124-credit hour, 4-year undergraduate degree program requires up to 50 credits in core major courses, up to 30 elective credits and 50 credits taken in Foundations courses. Review a list of Foundations courses.

Along with built-in internships and projects (over 50 student films are produced each year), Asbury’s media communication core curriculum has eight possible concentrations tailored to various interests and career goals: TV and video production, multimedia, performance, audio production, film production, screenwriting, instructional design, and production design.

Film Production Major Concentration

B.A. in Media Communication students who major in film production take courses like Directing the Narrative Film, Cinematography and Lighting and Screenwriting Fundamentals. Instructional Design Concentration

Our Instructional Design concentration prepares you to be a learning engineer for jobs of the future. With this emphasis, you can design courses, develop curricula, and create training materials across numerous industries, including healthcare, education, and technology. Multimedia Communication Major Concentration
