Professor to speak at Kentucky Book Fair
WILMORE, KY—Devin Brown, professor of English at Asbury College, is speaking at the Kentucky Book Fair Symposium on Nov. 11 at 12:15 p.m. at the Frankfort Convention Center in Frankfort, Ky.
His presentation titled, “A Conversation with Devin Brown on C. S. Lewis and Narnia” will include a discussion of C. S. Lewis’s own vocation. Brown will show a short video produced by Greg Bandy, assistant professor of media communication, and Asbury College media communication students called, “C. S. Lewis: The Storyteller.”
The presentation was made possible by a Lilly Scholar grant from Asbury College.
The Kentucky Book Fair’s goals are to honor the profession of writing, allow authors to meet the public and raise money through the sale of books to aid school and public libraries throughout Kentucky. The book fair is Kentucky’s premier literary event and one of the largest of its kind in the nation. Each year approximately 150 authors attend the book fair to autograph copies of their latest book. Between 4,000 and 5,000 patrons attend and gross sales annually top $120,000.
