Family Weekend 2023 Schedule

The schedule below provides suggestions of things you can do with your student, but feel free to spend time together however you want—shopping, eating at a favorite restaurant, exploring Asbury’s hiking trails, or enjoying the many opportunities Lexington and the surrounding area have to offer!

10 a.m.Chapel with Dr. Kevin J. Brown, President

Due to seating limitations, students will remain in their assigned seats while family members sit in Balcony sections A & G (closest to the stage).

Meet at the main barn for a tour of our 300-acre equine farm located alongside the Kentucky River.

Stop by the Photo Lab for an opportunity to make your own photographic print and to look through a camera obscura.  Free and open to all!

11 a.m.Family Weekend Ensemble Concert & Reception

Men’s Glee Club, Women’s Choir, Handbell Choir, Chorale, Chamber Ensembles Reception immediately following in the Band Room, featuring Jazz Ensemble
11 a.m. – 3 p.m.Pizzas from Around the World
One Mission Society Student Center
Enjoy FREE Ale-8 and stone oven pizzas with an international flair or make your own!
1 p.m.Baseball vs. Alumni

2 p.m.Comedy Theatre & Family Communication
Screening Room, Miller Center for Communication Arts
Parents and students, come learn strategies for good parent-child communication through this hilarious, instructive blend of comedy theatre and good teaching led by professors from Asbury's Communication & Theatre Department.
3 p.m.Baseball Scrimmage, Black vs. Purple

4 – 7 p.m.World Gospel Mission Goat Roast
WGM Student Center
A fun cultural experience including FREE goat meat, live music and yard games. (Some additional items/activities available for a donation.)
