Reminder

Aspirant is the third party administrator for our health insurance coverage.  We will continue to utilize Anthem’s provider network, however, Aspirant will continue to be the contact for claims, enrollments, customer service, and online access.  

Flexible Spending Accounts – The new annual maximum amount for 2024 is $3,000.00.  Please remember that you will need your employee ID#.  This number can be found on the AEP at aep.asbury.edu. The field will require 9 digits which means you will need to put zeros in front of your employee ID# to make it 9 digits. 

Flexible Spending Account Online Enrollment Instructions for 2024 – please click on link below.  If you currently have an account with Chard- Snyder you don’t need to create a new account. You will need to use your current log in information to enroll for 2024.

Please use a personal e-mail address for correspondence related to benefits that you are enrolled in.

What do I need to do?

  • Complete Spousal Eligibility AffidavitAll full-time benefit eligible employees who are enrolled in the health insurance plan will need to complete a spousal affidavit form. The form will be sent through Adobe Sign to your Asbury  University e-mail address (please check your junk and clutter boxes for the e-mail).  Please complete and sign the affidavit before 5:00 p.m., Friday, November 3, 2023
  • A health insurance enrollment/change form must be completed for any employee who is making changes to dependent coverage.  See below for the health insurance link.
  • If I am a Flexible Spending Account participant — I must re-enroll online to make my 2024 election. If not currently in use, set up direct deposit for reimbursement.
  • If I want to make other changes (add/delete/change coverage) to health insurance, dental insurance, or other plans, visit the links below. Forms must be submitted (electronically) to the HR Office by no later than Friday, November 3, 2023 at 5:00 p.m..
  • If I do not participate in the Flex Plan, and am not making changes in my health or dental coverage, I do not need to do anything except complete the Spousal Affidavit which is being sent from Adobe Sign to your AU e-mail.

Note: All signed forms must be submitted to Human Resources to be considered valid.

Other things to think about:

Have you had an address change?

Notify Human Resources in writing (email will work). Human Resources can change health and dental insurance information.

If you participate in the retirement plan please log on to TIAA’s website at www.tiaa.org to change your address.

Are your beneficiaries up to date?

  1. Travel Accident Policy (provided by the University) Asbury University Business Travel Beneficary Designation Form – S
  2. Voluntary/Group Life Insurance – Group Life Beneficiary Designation Form
  3. TIAA: visit the TIAA website and log in to review and/or change your beneficiaries.

Note: Beneficiary changes must be received by the HR office to be considered valid.

Have you reviewed your tax withholdings recently (federal & state)?

If your marital status has changed or you have added/dropped dependents, you may need to make a change on your tax withholdings. Please return completed tax forms to Payroll.  These forms are also available on the Human Resources website under Faculty/Staff forms.
