Dr. Campbell serves as the Provost’s primary academic representative for the university. He is a senior-level academic administrator who works collaboratively with faculty, deans, and administrators to shape the university’s academic direction through substantive conversations around hires, curriculum, and resource distribution.
As Vice Provost he supervises the Registrar, Center for Academic Excellence, Academic Accessibility Resources, and AU’s SEARCH program – a festival of ideas showcasing junior scholars and a highly influential network of guest artists and renowned scholars. Other areas of responsibility include curriculum and policy development, oversight of centers and institutes, grants, faculty development, and academic support services. His position also serves as the institution’s initial point of contact for internal and external constituencies on academic agreement matters.
His interests include the architecture of academic communities, institutional prestige, and the nature of faculty careers.
