Amy Bessin is the Instructional Services Librarian for Kinlaw Library. She works primarily with undergraduate students both in their classes and one-on-one in the library to improve their information literacy (including research, evaluation, and critical thinking skills). Collaborating with faculty to make sure their students are getting the necessary instruction and practice with 21st century learning skills is most rewarding to Amy when she sees student success. In addition to working with students, Amy also works on developing and using assessment tools to measure effective instruction and student information literacy skills. Her primary research interests are related to information literacy assessment, course design, and information literacy teaching methods.
When Amy is not reading or hanging around Kinlaw Library, she enjoys playing board games, baking, and spending time with her young daughter.
