About Asbury University

Grounded in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition, Asbury is committed to academic excellence and spiritual vitality.

Mission Statement

Asbury University, a Christian Liberal Arts University in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition, equips students, through academic excellence and spiritual vitality, for lifelong learning, leadership and service to the professions, society, the family and the Church, preparing them to engage their cultures and advance the cause of Christ around the world.

About Our University

Asbury University is a private, Christian, liberal arts institution, providing academic excellence in a context of spiritual vitality. Our nationally-recognized non-denominational university offers more than 130 areas of study, plus degree-completion, graduate degrees and high school dual-enrollment programs. Asbury University encourages its students to study, worship and serve together on a campus located 20 minutes southwest of Lexington in Wilmore, Kentucky.

The University has been at the heart of spiritual movements throughout its history, including the 1970 Revival and the Asbury Outpouring in 2023.

Asbury University’s 1,927 students come from 43 states and 35 countries, and 90 percent of the University’s traditional undergraduate students live on campus. Classes are taught by experienced scholars, 90 percent of whom hold terminal degrees in their field of study (2023-2024 full-time faculty and lecturers).

The University provides many opportunities for student involvement both on and off campus, such as internships, study abroad, travel courses, and the Cross-Cultural Engagement (CCE). Missions and community service opportunities are also available and are part of the curriculum in nearly every major.

More than 22,000 living alumni of the University surround the globe, leading and serving in all 50 states and at least 80 nations.
