Psalm 119 (selected verses)

Scripture holds so many wonderful truths and promises for the people of God.  Reading God’s Word daily is a tremendous source of hope and encouragement.  Psalm 119 is filled with truth that inspires us to look to God and His Word for guidance and for His provision in our lives.

I came across this list of verses from Psalm 119 several years ago.  I do not remember the source of this list, but I have found these to be a significant help in my life and I trust in yours as well.

The Bible will help keep you from sin. "I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you." -- Psalm 119:11

The Bible will lift your burdens. "My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to your word." -- Psalm 119:28

The Bible will guide your steps. "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path." -- Psalm 119:105

The Bible will bring you joy. "Your statutes are my heritage forever; they are the joy of my heart.” -- Psalm 119:111

The Bible will lead you to wisdom. "The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple." -- Psalm 119:130

The Bible will give you peace. "Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble." -- Psalm 119:165

The Bible will bring you back to God. "I have strayed like a lost sheep. Seek your servant, for I have not forgotten your commands." -- Psalm 119:176
