Prof. Emily Walsh – “Be Still”

November 26, 2013

“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” – Psalm 46:10

In the 90s, Dennis Jernigan wrote and released the song, “You Are My All In All.” He is our strength when we are weak. He is the treasure that we seek. He takes our sin and shame. He picks us up when we are down and fills our cup to carry on.

Stop for a moment and think about that.  He is “our refuge and our strength” (Psalm 46:1a).  He is all that we need! And He is much bigger than any of us will ever be.

In our humanness, it can be very tempting to prove ourselves to others by trying to do things on our own. However, we will all reach a point of end because we are finite beings, but God is not. Take a moment to see what He can do and what He has already done. Learn to walk with Him rather than in front and to experience the knowledge of God.
