“Love That Changes Lives” – Glenn Hamilton

Scripture Reference: Ephesians 3:14-21

“May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully.  Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.” – Ephesians 3:19 (NLT)

We often talk about the love of Christ as an intellectual fact, as if intellectual ascendance is the final goal.  But what does it mean to experience the love of Christ?  What does it mean to be convinced in our core person that “For God so loved ME He gave…”?

When corners of our hearts are unconvinced of His love for us, we may try to convince ourselves it’s true through a variety of ways.  We may begin to attempt to earn His love and favor by working harder, being a better person, or even serving at our church.  The irony is these attempts serve only to put the spotlight back on us and not what His love has done in us.

The experience of His love brings completeness in our “fullness of life and power,” not merely the understanding of His love.  Are you convinced in your core person that He loves you simply because?  If so, rest in that today.  If not, then ask Him what the barrier is that keeps you from believing it.  He wants to show more than you realize because He wants you to experience the “fullness of life and power.”
