“The Least of These” – Dr. Rocky Wallace

October 17, 2016

“The king will reply: ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you have done for one of the least of these, my brothers, you have done it unto me.’” – Matthew 25:40

I must admit at being frustrated at the lack of interest from our parents at church and their kids in regard to sending our youth to church camp this summer. We have promoted the camp over and over, hosted the camp director in doing a presentation at church, taken the youth on overnights to the camp… But in reality, the summers fill up fast with sports commitments, other camps, family trips, and youth outings that are more recreational and less spiritual.

But then, an e-mail came to me from one of our church members expressing that the kids from our van ministry would love to go to church camp this summer. And sure enough, four from the same trailer court not only attended the three days of ‘day camp’, but the two oldest eagerly went back later in the summer for a full week.

And I was reminded yet again about the status quo traditions of Jesus’ day, and how He went far beyond such “walls” to love on those who needed Him most.
