“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you.” – Matthew 28:19

We can get discouraged in our work in the church, sometimes wondering if the younger generation is even listening anymore. But, we are reminded that if we do the planting, God will provide the increase. In the last three years, our church has invited in a missionary team and also our local state university UMC Wesley Foundation to each lead a morning worship service annually. These are inspiring, and we always provide a love offering as well for these ministries. And that’s pretty much it—good partnerships.

However, this summer, two of our former youth who are now in college went on mission trips out of the country. One was a teaching internship. The other was with the Wesley Foundation at her school. And we assumed the youth weren’t listening…
