Lilly Ministry Scholarships
This is an important new initiative that identifies and nurtures high-quality liberal arts students who demonstrate giftedness for ministry. These students are, therefore, highly likely to become the next generation of dedicated leaders of church congregations. Criteria for awarding these scholarships include GPA, recommendations, evidence of church-related spiritual leadership, and an essay on a key book on ministry as calling.
Responsibilities attached to the scholarships include taking Dynamics of Spiritual Growth, regular meetings with a mentor in the Bible and Theology Department, constructive involvement in a local congregation, and participation in the Transformations Project Roundtable discussions. The awards are competitively renewable if the students continue to pursue church ministry in one of three majors: ordained ministry in the Bible and Theology major, Christian Ministries, or Church Music. In screening for these scholarships, we will be sensitive to our women’s emphasis.
