Experiential Education
The goal of the program is to support students as they participate in experiential education opportunities that provide a platform for them to explore their sense of calling to a discipline and profession.
The Experiential Education Program provides supportive services to Academic and Student Development departments as they choose to make use of the following services:
- Multi-disciplinary, student reflection groups focused on helping students process what they are learning in their experience and how their experience impacts their sense of vocational identity and calling
- Networking with employer contacts and alumni to maintain existing relationships or develop new contacts, opportunities, and sites
- In collaboration with the Registrar's office, administrative upkeep of credit bearing activities by way of statistics and forms
- Centralized, web based opportunity postings
- Assistance for students in targeting and contacting possible sites
- Assistance for students in preparing a targeted resume and reviewing search strategies and interviewing skills
- Workshops focused on the internship process as well as preparation for entering a professional environment (professional work setting etiquette, cultural sensitivity, problem solving, etc.)
- Coordination of alumni mentoring contacts to assist students throughout their experience
