Transformations Project
The Transformations Project unleashes the power of vocation within our Christian liberal arts learning environment. This exciting initiative, supported by a grant from Lilly Endowment, challenges us to deepen our understanding of God's call upon our lives.
Rich opportunities are available to students for exploring the relationship of faith to career path, family, church, society, and the larger world. Some programs explore how all areas of life come under divine call; other programs target numerous potential avenues of service, including church ministry. The Transformations Project includes retreats, chapels, practical ministry opportunities, career exploration in relation to calling, and many other programs. A major portion of the Project enables faculty and professional staff to enhance their abilites in leading students into a vocational exploration.
In a culture that indentifies vocation with a job or earning a wage and equates personal success with material acquistion, the Transformations Project assists all of us to see and to live our lives in a larger, unified frame of reference. To understand all legitimate relationships and activities as coming under divine call is to find greater integration, wholeness, and fulfillment in our lives. Indeed, it is to be wonderfully transformed by a clearer sense of what it means to love God in all that we are and all that we do.
