Leadership Opportunities for Students - Student Success Programs

Transition and Guidance (TAG) Coordinators - ($2,002 scholarship) - The T.A.G. Program Coordinators help plan and facilitate all aspects of program activities in conjunction with the Associate Dean for Student Success and Intercultural Programs, and assist with all aspects of the New Student Orientation program, including T.A.G. Leader selection, training, and supervision. One or two previous T.A.G. Leaders are selected in the fall for the following academic year.

Intercultural Transition and Guidance (iTAG) Leaders - Two student leaders are selected to work with new international students and those students who have lived outside of the U.S. for the last four years or longer, to assist in a successful transition to campus life. In conjunction with the Coordinator for Intercultural Programs, the iT.A.G. Leaders plan and facilitate programs and activities during Intercultural New Student Orientation and throughout the first year that help with the unique cultural adjustments and transition issues of these students.

Transition and Guidance (TAG) Leaders - Student leaders are selected to work in pairs to assist a small group of first-time or transfer students in successfully transitioning into the Asbury College community. The T.A.G. Leader partners participate with their group in New Student Orientation, plan and facilitate monthly social and/or service programs/activities and weekly dinners for their group, and meet with each new student individually.

First Year Experience Seminar Peer Instructors - Upperclass student leaders with excellent academic records are selected to work with an Instructor to teach a section of First Year Experience Seminar to first-time college students in preparing them to successfully engage in the college experience, as well as in exploring the unique way God has gifted them for life. Peer Instructors are enrolled in the two-hour course "The Peer Educator: Theory to Practice in Higher Education" as part of this leadership experience and receive a small stipend, books, and supplies.
