Dawn Rightmire has been a nurse at Asbury University Student Health since 1987. She graduated from the University of Tennessee with a BSN degree in nursing and has been Certified in College Health Nursing by the ANCC (American Nurses Credentialing Center) since 1998. Dawn has a passion for helping students to be healthy and become all God has created them to be during their time at Asbury and beyond. She has a particular interest in nutrition and helping students who struggle with disordered eating and body image. She has also worked with students regarding travel health for many years. Before working at Asbury, she worked in intensive care units for babies, children and adults and spent several summers as a camp nurse. She is married to Dr. David Rightmire, PhD who is a professor of Bible and Theology at Asbury University. Their daughter, Katherine '01 and Wesley '99 Bullock and precious granddaughter, Juniper live in Lexington. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her wonderful family, particularly in the great outdoors hiking. She has enjoyed traveling and camping in many states in the US and Canada and has also had the privilege to go on several trips abroad. When indoors she cherishes time w/ friends as well as sewing, crafts and puzzles. She is active in her church - The Salvation Army - in Lexington as well as the SASF (Salvation Army Student Center) here on campus.
