Description/Responsibilities: 
The Coldwater Wilderness Instructor Training program is an 8 week intensive training in wilderness leadership available to students who have completed the Wilderness Learning Expedition (WLE). Participants will receive comprehensive instruction in all facets of wilderness ministry, including wilderness first aid, risk management, minimum impact wilderness ethic, and the role of the instructor in both processing and technical skills. Training will include classroom and field instruction. New instructors will finish this experience with field assignments, working to facilitate a wilderness experience for high school students. Principles of leadership and experiential education are highly transferable to a variety of life settings (ie: education, people management, youth and pastoral ministry, as well as outdoor leadership). This is a program for students who are ministry-minded, love to work with people and who are looking for a dynamic and engaging field experience to challenge and hone their capabilities as a leader and as a teacher. Requirements/Qualifications: 
Candidates should have: *a love for the outdoors (technical skills not a requirement). *an interest in working alongside others in a learning community. *a minimum age of 20. *a desire to work with youth in non-formal education programs.
