Description/Responsibilities: 
Ministry Purpose The purpose of the Minister of Youth is to cast vision and lead an expanding team to disciple students for Jesus Christ (grades 7th – 12th) and equip them for works of service in the Kingdom of God. Ministry Duties 1. Develop and maintain relationships with MUMC teenagers. 2. Develop and maintain avenues for intentional disciple-making through Sunday classes, small groups and Wednesday night activities. 3. Develop and seek out opportunities for mission and perspective, including retreats, projects and mission trips. 4. Seek-out, equip and enable adult and student leaders to also accomplish duties 1, 2, or 3. 5. Cultivating a healthy spiritual life and growing as a leader at MUMC. 6. Develop and maintain healthy working relationship with MUMC leaders and staff. 7. Network and pray with community youth leaders.
Requirements/Qualifications: 
This position requires knowledge and skills including; 1) strong faith in Jesus with a growing knowledge of Scripture 2) confidence in teaching in a variety of settings 3) heart to serve families and their teenagers 4) gifts to lead and equip a team of ministers, 5) ability to plan & organize 6) supportive of Methodist theology under the preaching of John Wesley. There is no educational requirement to apply for this position. However, completed courses in Biblical Studies, Theology and/or Youth Culture are highly recommended. Applicants preferred to have worked consistently with students for at least 2 years in either a camp or church setting.
