Description/Responsibilities:
-Coordinate Sunday evening and Wednesday evening youth programs
-Plan weekly youth-specific activities to promote fun, fellowship, and spiritual development (ie ice breakers, small group activities)
-Select curriculum lessons with the Youth Advisory team and Associate Pastor
-Focus youth on developing Christ-centered, Spirit-empowered and Biblically-guided lives
-Provide Christian fellowship and support opportunities for youth
-Involve youth in service ministry within the church and community
-With support from the Youth Advisory Team, encourage youth to participate in planning and implementing activities to develop leadership qualities
-Develop and implement specific Jr. and Sr. High exclusive events, studies and activities.
-Coordinate larger events (designed to reach unchurched youths) such as service projects, lock-ins, retreats, etc.
Requirements/Qualifications:
-Ability to model enthusiastic and joyful Christian discipleship
-Post secondary education preferred or in pursuit of degree
-Passion for youth ministry, is able to inspire and motivate youth and sets a good Christian example
-Good organization and communication skills, including the ability to build and sustain trusting relationships with youth and their parents
-Available to participate in events both inside the church and the community
etc.
