Description/Responsibilities: 
We are looking for a detail-oriented, dynamic, and team-focused editorial assistant to support Good News Magazine located in The Woodlands. This business professional will help us to write and edit articles for our bi-monthly magazine, website, and e-newsletter. This person will also assume primary responsibility for our social networking communications. We are growing our readership and are looking for a self-starter who cheerfully enjoys the challenge of meeting deadlines, continuously improving processes, supporting others, and changing directions as the needs of the business dictate. Good News is a national organization that exists to uphold biblical teaching for all people within the United Methodist Church. We promote growth in faith and are a voice for reforming and strengthening classical Christian values. We communicate through our bi-monthly GOOD NEWS magazine; our website at www.goodnewsmag.org; and a bi-weekly email newsletter Perspective. We are fully funded by private donations.
Requirements/Qualifications: 
Candidates must enjoy working with others and possess the following skills: • Good organization skills • Ability to communicate clearly and well in writing • Strong orientation towards quality and creativity • Microsoft Word at an intermediate level or higher; InDesign publishing software • Familiarity and competence working with social networking platforms, such as Facebook and Twitter Qualifications include: • Experience working in a publishing environment preferred • Bachelor’s degree in journalism or English preferred • Willingness to support our Christian mission in support of the United Methodist Church
