Description/Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
• Establish a presence in one or more apartment complex(s) in year 1
• Work primarily in the WUMC Mission Priority Area as defined as being able to walk to the church facilities.
• Establish a children’s ministry through the week with:
o Community focus
o Zip code/ church focus
• Coordinate ‘VBS in a Box’ through summer and expansion into community
• Establish a team
• Be a Sunday School presence as a teacher or opening person
• Participate in worship experiences
(This is a pioneer project, an entrepreneur project, an apostle project)
Requirements/Qualifications:
With a growing outreach and steady growth WUMC is seeking an energetic, creative individual with a heart and passion to make non religious children and families excited about being a part of WUMC and knowing Jesus. This individual must have a desire to see children come to know, love and follow Jesus. This is a leadership, equipping and teaching position; therefore ability to teach children and lead adult and youth volunteers is necessary to succeed. Qualifications:
• Love children
• Love Jesus with proven testimony
• Able to work with people, motivate and negotiate for the higher purpose.
• Believes in the vision of Westwood United Methodist Church.
• Bible background, mission understanding of culture
• Willing to work with parents/guardians/community to communicate well for the best interest of children
• Able to work in diversity and with other staff members
• Strong work ethic and teamwork displayed
