Men's Basketball signs two more for 2007-08
Chris Driver of Corydon, Ind., and Keith Price of Liberty, Ky., signed letters of intent this week with Asbury College to play for the men's basketball team in 2007-08. The two signees bring Asbury to three players signed in the off-season, joining point guard Dee Smith of Sayre High School in Lexington, Ky.
Chris Driver - Corydon, Ind. (Christian Academy of Indiana)
Driver is a 6'8" power forward who attended the Christian Academy of Indiana, located in New Albany. He averaged 9.3 points per game, 8.0 rebounds per game, and 3.0 blocks per game during his senior season. Twice Driver led the team in field-goal percentage in a season, his junior and sophomore years. Driver also competed on the track team at CAI. He is the son of James Driver and Kathy Norton.
"Chris has a good upside with tremendous athleticism," said Asbury College Head Coach Jim Aller. "He will begin the year with the JV, but should earn varsity minutes as the year progresses."
Keith Price - Liberty, Ky. (Casey County High School)
Price is also 6'8" who played his high school ball in Liberty for Casey County High School. Price averaged 19.6 points per game, 10.4 rebounds per game, and also averaged over four blocks a game his senior season. Price was a three-year starter for Casey Couty who earned All-District honors.
"Keith will have an immediate impact on our squad for 2007-08," Aller said. "He has good hands with a good shooting touch around the basket, but will need to improve his defense to become a very good college player."
