Don’t touch those scissors!
WILMORE, KY—Residents in Glide-Crawford and Kresge halls are growing their locks out this fall and winter for a good cause. These new styles are part of Great Lengths, a program sponsored by Glide-Crawford and Kresge halls to promote breast cancer awareness and help those battling the illness.
Several Glide-Crawford and Kresge women have promised to forgo the scissors until April when they will cut their long hair and donate it to organizations such as Locks of Love, Wigs for Kids and Beautiful Lengths. April is Cancer Awareness Month.
On Oct. 10, more than 70 women turned out to kick-off the program and pledge their hair. Attendees received pink ribbons, enjoyed pink M&Ms and punch, and learned more about women’s health. Women can still sign-up to donate their hair by visiting the bulletin boards in Kresge and Glide-Crawford.
For more details, visit the Kresge or Glide-Crawford lobby boards or contact Dana Malone.
