Women's soccer team takes KIAC title
WILMORE, KY—Asbury College women's soccer team took on Berea College for their first KIAC Championship title Monday, Oct. 30 at 6:30 p.m. in Berea, Ky.
Senior Jodi DeLong of Wilmore gave the Eagles a 1-0 led in the first half with a penalty kick. Canadian freshman Miranda Wiley made the second and final score of the game in the second half, leading the Eagles to a 2-0 win over Berea College. The Eagles shut out Berea College 3-0 on Sept. 16 of this year.
The women’s soccer team has a 14-4-1 record for the season. The College won the first game of the tournament on Saturday against Brescia University 4-2.
This season, the team has outscored their opponents 59-15, with 22 of those goals coming from Wiley. Go Eagles!
