Godspell Scores Record Attendance
The first musical of the Theatre & Cinema Performance Programs new Musical Theatre emhasis was a great start for the young program. A collaboration with the Music Department, TCP's production of Godspell was a true work of heart.
The production began in the spring semester of 2007 when fifty-five students auditioned for the musical. Once cast, the players agreed to give up a week of there summer vacation by returning to school and rehearsing the week before regular classes began. After many days and hours of rehearsal, the production opened October 4th.
With only five performances, a record number of tickets were sold and nearly 900 people converged onto Doddgridge-Holland theatre to view the production and experience the Gospels of Mark and Luke as it was presented by 14 performers. Next years musical will be announced in December.
