WILMORE, KY—Asbury College hosts a visit weekend for high school students Nov. 9-11.
During “Fall Preview” high school juniors, seniors and their parents have the opportunity to see what being an Asbury College student is about. Students attend classes with current students, meet with professors one-on-one, attend chapel, eat in the cafeteria and stay over night in the residence halls.
“It’s a lot of fun,” said Beth Michael ’07, an Asbury College Ambassador. “It’s a way to really see the heart and soul of the campus and get a feel for what the community is really like.
“You get to interact with the students and talk about the social, spiritual and academic aspects of Asbury College and college life in general,” Michael said. “I think the College does a good job of turning what could be a scary or boring experience into a welcoming and fun experience.”
Events scheduled for Thursday evening include registration, fellowship, worship time and orientation. On Friday, students will attend classes, chapel, and “Life at Asbury,” a time of learning about the different programs offered at the College.
Parents have the same opportunities and will also be able to meet with the financial aid director.
Friday night, students and parents are welcome to relax at the “Kresge Café” or attend Artist Series featuring the American Chamber Players in Hughes Auditorium. Also Friday evening, there will be a showing of “The Best of the Best of the High Bridge Film Festival.”
The Admissions Office at Asbury College will host two more official visit weekends this academic year: January 25-27 (Winter Preview) and April 19-21 (Spring Preview).
