Alumni win advertising awards
WILMORE, KY—Several alumni walked away with honors at the Lexington Ad Club’s annual ADDY Awards ceremony on Feb. 24.
Sarah Seaton, a 2005 media communications graduate, received a Gold ADDY for her promotion “Derby Pride” for WLEX. She also won four Silver ADDY awards for single and campaign promotions for the TV station. Seaton is a former promotions producer for WLEX Channel 18 in Lexington. She is now a promotions producer for WLJA, an ABC affiliate out of Washington, D.C. As a student, Seaton helped broadcast the Athens Summer Olympics and served as a producer for Newswatch, the College’s TV station.
Other alumni garnering awards this year represent the Cre8tive Group in Wilmore. The team received three Gold ADDY awards, one of which was for the “Asbury College—Windows of Opportunity” interactive media. They also took home six Silver ADDY awards in various categories. Asbury College alumni with the Cre8tive Group are Chad Crouch ’93 (CEO), Peter Cook ’03, Andy Didyk ’04, Charlie Fiskeau II ’01, Teri Harvey ’93 Jarrard, Julie Weber ’99 Stevenson and Steve Thorson ’05.
Gold, Silver and Bronze ADDY Awards are presented in various advertising categories including direct marketing, self promotion, sales promotion, radio, television, interactive media and others. All Gold ADDY winners are entered into the regional competition. Winners from the regional competition will then compete with the best in the nation at the American Advertising Awards in June to be held in Louisville.
