Asbury takes down Oakland City, 2-0
Asbury leveled their season at 2-2 with a 2-0 win over Oakland City on Thursday night. Goals by freshmen Katie Crocker and Jennifer Mendelson led the way as the Eagles will now turn their attention towards Bryan (Tenn.) College on Saturday night. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m.
The Eagles dominated play against Oakland City, registering 31 shots, 13 on-goal while only giving up a total of four shots for the Lady Oaks, zero coming on-goal. Junior Laura Calkins and freshman Bethany Russell combined on the shutout with Calkins manning the first half in goal and Russell appearing in the second half.
Crocker's goal in the 18th minute is her third on the season and Mendelson registered her fourth goal on the year in the 68th minute. This marks the second straight game in which the duo has scored goals as each registered a goal against Thomas More last Saturday.
