Women's basketball advances with 55-51 win over Alice Lloyd
Wilmore, KY - Asbury got 16 points from Anna Stephenson and 15 from Brittany Abbott as they used defense and free-throws late to earn the 55-51 win over Alice Lloyd. Junior guard Lindsey Wood sealed the game at the line by hitting one of two free throws to give the Eagles a two possession lead with only 7.5 seconds to play.
The win moves Asbury to 13-15 overall and will put the Eagles into Friday's semifinals against regular-season champion, Midway. Midway swept Asbury in the regular season, each by single-digit margins - 61-53 in Midway and a 60-55 result on Senior Night in Wilmore.
