Volleyball drops heartbreaker to Mountain State
Looking at the stats, Asbury outperformed Mountain State in every facet of the game except the scoreboard, dropping a five-game match, 27-30, 24-30, 30-19, 30-21, 14-16.
The Eagles had more kills (59 to 43), had a better percentage (.247 to .040), and registered 18 total blocks, compared to seven for their opponent. However, Mountain State did just enough to get the win. The Eagles rallied from a two-game deficit only to drop the final game, 16-14 even after holding a 14-13 lead with serve.
The loss drops the Eagles to 16-20 on the year, 4-3 in conference play. The team will next play at home in a tri-match against Lindsey Wilson and Union on Tuesday, November 6th. Tip off is set for 3:00 p.m. against Union and 7:30 p.m. against Lindsey Wilson.
