Weekend to be highlighted by tournament play and Zweifel Classic
The merge of seasons winding down with those starting up comes to a crescendo this weekend for Eagle athletics. The men's and women's soccer teams are currently in Chattanooga, Tennessee for the opening rounds of the NAIA XII Regional Tournament. Both will play today with the hopes of advancing to Saturday's finals.
Another season winding down is cross country, making their appearance at the KIAC conference meet, held in conjunction with the NAIA Region XII meet in Elizabethton, Tennessee.
Women's Basketball begins it's season with a trip to Batavia, Ohio to take on Cincinnati-Clermont at 7:00 p.m. while the Men's Basketball team hosts the 12th annual Cecil Zweifel Classic beginning tonight and tomorrow. Tonight's tip offs begin at 6:00 p.m. tonight with Kentucky Christian taking on Virginia Intermont, and 8:00 p.m. Asbury takes the floor against Montreat (N.C.). The teams will rotate on Saturday with Kentucky Christian vs. Montreat at 1:00 p.m., while Asbury hosts Virginia Intermont at 3:00 p.m.
Running concurrent with men's basketball on Saturday is a home meet for the Swimming & Diving team against Transylvania University and Union College at 1:00 p.m.
