Men's Soccer valiant in 2-1 OT loss to Eastern Illinois

Asbury held their own against NCAA Division I Eastern Illinois on Wednesday afternoon, pushing the Panthers to the limit before falling on a goal in overtime for a 2-1 loss.

The Eagles were outshot in the game 28-5, including 16-3 shots on goal yet found themselves with a 1-0 lead after freshman Danny Winklepleck earned a penalty kick for being fouled in the box. Junior Harrison Creech would convert the penalty, staking Asbury to the lead in the 64th minute of play. Eastern Illinois would finally breakthrough on a goal by Alex Harrison after assists from Mick Galeski and Evan Philpott in the 76th minute. Harrison would then be credited with the game winner in overtime in a scrum in front of the net, ending the contest in the 95th minute.

The win ends Asbury's season at 9-12, 1-2 in KIAC play.
