Eagles suffer two eight-run innings in 24-5 loss to Reinhardt

Waleska, GA - Starting pitcher Jon Wes Adams managed to register just one out while giving up five earned runs on five hits during an eight-run first inning that sent Asbury on their way to a 24-5 loss against Reinhardt College. The Eagles from Waleska, Georgia then tacked on a five-run second inning to stand with a 13-1 lead after just two innings of play.

Asbury would get three runs back in the third with RBI's by Greg Bowling, Matt Ciolek, and McKenzie Carter. After a scoreless bottom of the third, the Eagles however allowed another eight-run inning in the home half of the fourth and three runs in the fifth before adding another run of their own in the top of the 6th to complete the scoring.

All in all, Asbury sent four pitchers to the mound, giving up 24 earned runs on 21 hits - Adams, Koby Hearn, Brandon Boardman, and Stephen Rose. Freshman Geoffery Witt worked a scoreless seventh. 

The loss drops Asbury to 2-7 on the season as they will travel further down the state of Georgia to take on Atlanta Christian. The doubleheader is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start.
