Eagles Cruise 4-0

Wilmore, KY---The Asbury College women's soccer team moved to within one game of .500 with a 4-0 shutout win over Cincinnati Christian University Thursday night. The Eagles dominated the play from the start and took control early.
Kellie German scored her first goal of the season in a 4-0 win over Cincinnati Christian Thursday night.
Asbury (5-6) got their first goal off the foot of junior Miranda Wiley in the 11th minute when CCU's keeper dropped the ball and Wiley knocked it in. Wiley now has six goals this season and 38 for her career. Just over a minute later junior Carol Fogler scored off a pass from junior Ashley Amburgy to make it 2-0.

Junior defender Kellie German scored her first goal of the season in the 19th minute when CCU's keeper, Taylor Nicholson couldn't handle German's shot and the ball trickled in. In the second half Jen Mendelson added her first goal of the season off a cross from Wiley.

Asbury is now 3-0 all time against CCU, with an aggregate score of 22-0. They last played in 2004 with Asbury winning 7-0, and in 2002 11-0.

Cincinnati Christian is in their first year of transition into the NAIA and KIAC, and their women's soccer team is not yet competing in conference play.

Asbury will play Saturday at home against Trevecca Nazarene University at 12:30pm. The JV squad will be in action Friday at 7pm against Johnson Bible College.
