Adult Professional Studies (APS) Programs
Mission Statement
The mission of the Adult Professional Program (APS) is to provide a quality academic program, within a Christian context, that equips nontraditional students to achieve professional excellence in their chosen field. The APS Program prepares students for leadership and service to others, cultivates attitudes of lifelong learning, and fosters spiritual development.
Program Design
The APS Program is a non-traditional accelerated program designed to provide adults with an opportunity to complete a college degree and earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and Ethics, Elementary Education, or Leadership and Ministry.
The APS Program is designed for busy adults who already have approximately two or more years of college credit. In this accelerated format adult students attend class one night a week on a year-round basis. Periodic breaks are integrated into the schedule. This format provides the opportunity to complete a degree in about two years. This program is designed to bring a new level of management skills, leadership, and increased ethical values to those desiring to make a difference in their work, church, and world.
Instructional Modular Courses
To enable students to fit this program into their already busy lives, the University has scheduled 18 modular courses one night a week from 6-10 p.m. for the duration of the program (about two years). Organized into groups of about 15, called a cohort, students progress through the program together.
Asbury University full time and part time faculty teach in the APS Program. They are trained to relate to adult students and to make each modular course an exciting and valuable learning experience.
