Morgan Tracy
Personal and Educational Background
I consider myself a Midwesterner by heritage, as most of my formative years were spent in Illinois and Iowa, but I love the Bluegrass area of Kentucky and have lived in Lexington for 11 of the last 12 years. I received a B.A. degree from Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, a Master’s in Library Science degree from Clarion University of Pennsylvania, and a Master’s in Liberal Studies from Fort Hays State University in Kansas.
Professional Background
I have worked in a variety of library environments, although in each setting my primary emphasis has been in the area of public services. I have served as a director at a small public library, branch manager at a mid-sized public library, director at a small college library, and most recently as a unit supervisor for the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives. In my present position at Asbury University I am serving as Director of Library Services, but I also had a previous tenure with the college as Reference and Archives Librarian from 1997-2002.
Family
My wife Leslie (whom I met in a library!) is a Registered Respiratory Therapist who provides home health care in the area, and we have two daughters, Katie and Mary. We are a close family and enjoy spending time together!
