Morgan Tracy
Personal and Educational Background
I consider myself a Midwesterner by heritage, as most of my formative years were spent in Illinois and Iowa, but I love the Bluegrass area of Kentucky and have lived in Lexington since 1997, with the exception of one year. I received a B.A. degree from Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, a Master’s in Library Science degree from Clarion University of Pennsylvania, and a Master’s in Liberal Studies from Fort Hays State University in Kansas.
Professional Background
I have worked in a variety of library environments, although in each setting my primary emphasis has been in the area of public services. I have served as a director at a small public library, branch manager at a mid-sized public library, director at a small college library, and as a unit supervisor for the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives. In my present position at Asbury University I am serving as Director of Library Services, but I also had a previous tenure with the university as Reference and Archives Librarian from 1997-2002.
Family
I have a great family -- I met my beautiful wife Leslie in a library (what are the odds!), and we have two amazing daughters, Katie (Asbury class of 2012) and Mary (future Asbury class of 2022).
