DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, PHYSICAL EDUCATION & RECREATION

Exercise Science Position

POSITION: Full-time tenure track position in the Health, Physical Education and Recreation department for Fall 2014.

QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. preferred, will consider ABD in Exercise Science or terminal degree in a related field and college teaching experience. Strength and conditioning, fitness, first aid, CPR and AED certifications would be beneficial.

COMMITMENT: and be in harmony with the University’s Statement of Faith and Mission.

ACADEMIC RANK: Assistant or Associate Professor, depending upon qualifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Teaching a broad range of courses primarily within the Exercise Science major, including, but not necessarily limited to Fitness Assessment and

Prescription, Physiology of Exercise, Kinesiology and Biomechanics, and Strength and Conditioning. Additional responsibilities would include developing and instructing on-line classes, student advising and appropriate University committee assignments.

COMPENSATION: Compensation is competitive and dependent upon education and experience. Benefits include retirement (TIAA/CREF) and insurance plans.

HPER DEPARTMENT: The department offers undergraduate majors in Equine Studies, Exercise Science-emphases in Human Performance and Health Professions, Health and Physical Education Teacher Certification (P-12), and Recreation-emphases in Adventure Leadership and Public Recreation. Additionally minors are also offered in Adventure Leadership, Coaching, Equine Studies, Exercise Science, and Recreation.
