POSITION: Full-time, tenure-track position beginning August 2013
QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must possess an earned doctorate in curriculum and instruction with a focus in educational technology with demonstrated experience and excellence in teaching, outreach and service; preferred experience teaching in elementary, middle grades and/or secondary schools; excellent written and oral communication and strong interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to conduct quantitative and/or qualitative research in education; experience with project management tracking systems and databases, potential for attracting external funding; broad knowledge base of educational technology, competency in technology, a commitment to online/interactive instruction, and a record of or potential for scholarly research and publication.
INSTITUTIONAL COMMITMENT: Candidates must give evidence of an evangelical Christian commitment, and be in harmony with the College’s Statement of Faith and Mission.
ACADEMIC RANK: Dependent on qualifications
RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach courses at the undergraduate/graduate level in education technology; advisement of students; provide effective leadership and supervision of student clinical experiences; conduct research and scholarly activities; work collaboratively with other faculty to develop and/or implement effective and appropriate programs and policies; demonstrate an active commitment to diversity within educational instruction, clinical experiences and curriculum; support student engagement in community and campus service learning activities.
COMPENSATION: Compensation is competitive and dependent upon education and experience. Benefits include retirement (TIAA/CREF) and insurance plans.
EDUCATIONAL UNIT: The unit is NCATE and state accredited offering both undergraduate and graduate degrees. Undergraduate certification areas include: elementary, middle school, secondary, and P-12. Graduate certification areas are: special education, English as a second language, Literacy/reading/writing, and offerings via alternative certification routes.
