Asbury Named a 'College of Distinction'
WILMORE, Ky. — Asbury University (already ranked as one of the Top 5 colleges in the South by U.S. News and World Report and the only Kentucky school ranked in the Top 10) has now been named a College of Distinction — one of only five schools in Kentucky to be recognized as such — for its all-around excellence as a residential liberal arts school.
Judged on a combination of qualitative and quantitative information, schools are ranked according to four criteria: the engagement of their students, the quality of their faculty, community life and successful outcomes.
Some high points drawn out in the award include:
- A cross-cultural requirement that opens doors of lasting experiential learning for Asbury students.
- Undergraduate classes in several areas, such as sitcom production and Police Mount training, that are exclusive in the region.
- Co-curricular activities that include athletics; theatre and film acting; community service and more.
