Asbury Hosts Chamber of Commerce Luncheon
WILMORE, Ky. — Asbury University hosted a diverse group of business owners, elected officials, representatives of faith communities and educators for a Jessamine County Chamber of Commerce luncheon on campus recently.
Speaking at the luncheon was Dr. Michael Kane, dean of Asbury’s new School of Business. With remarks focused on expanding opportunities for Asbury students to partner with local businesses, he was able to introduce many members of the Chamber to Asbury’s focus on Christian values within the business environment for the first time.
Misti Drury, a new employee at Warner’s Printing Service, enjoyed her first visit to Asbury’s campus and particularly appreciated the attention speakers paid to the importance of a healthy work environment
“I was impressed that Asbury is preparing students to do business God’s way,” she said. “Asbury has the potential to make a big impact on local businesses through internships and partnerships.”
State Farm agent Randall Chewning agreed: “This communicates to young people that you can have a spiritual life in business, and that you don’t have to separate them.”
