Asbury Hosting Chick-fil-A Leadercast Event
Asbury University will make an investment in Central Kentucky high-school students and their communities this week through the Chick-fil-A Leadercast, an annual one-day leadership development event.
The Leadercast, now in its 14th year, is broadcast live from Atlanta, Ga., to locations throughout the United States. Asbury is serving as a host site specifically for high-school students, creating the opportunity to tailor discussions around the opportunities and challenges in leadership that students face.
“Our mission is to engage our culture to impact the world for Christ,” said Lisa Harper, director of admissions at Asbury. “We have the privilege of joining with Leadercast to cast a vision for quality leadership and integrity in the work place, home and church. Our high-school students will leave with some practical ways to integrate the principles learned and get to eat Chick-fil-A sandwiches — it's a win-win opportunity!”
The theme of this year’s program is “simply” leading, or simplifying life to better allow leadership to thrive. Last year, more than 100,000 leaders from 14 countries attended the Leadercast either at the live site in Atlanta or a simulcast location.
Asbury’s Wilmore, Ky., simulcast will take place in Asbury’s Miller Center for Communication Arts and includes lunch and refreshments. Tickets are available at a reduced rate of $15 from www.asbury.edu/leadercast. Individuals not in high school should visit www.chick-fil-aleadercast.com to locate a simulcast location in their area.
