Former Wildcat Cameron Mills to Speak at Asbury
WILMORE, Ky. — Former University of Kentucky basketball player Cameron Mills will speak at Asbury University at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 13 in the Student Center. The program is free and open to the public.
Mills chose to walk on to the UK basketball team in 1994, passing up scholarship offers at other schools to be able to play where his father had played before him. By the end of his senior year, he had played in two national championship games, and he still holds the UK record for three-point percentage for a season (53.2 percent) and a career (47.4 percent).
His success in basketball, however, provided a platform for an even more cherished calling: ministry. Mills founded Cameron Mills Ministries after graduating from UK and speaks to schools, youth groups and churches with a faith-based perspective on sports, competition and life.
The presentation, titled “The Athlete Image,” is hosted by Asbury’s Office of Intercultural Programs.
