WILMORE, KY—Asbury College is proud to announce senior Alicia Lewellen of Wilmore as the 2008 Student Employee of the Year.

Lewellen’s nominator stated that Lewellen is thorough in completing tasks, pleasant to other students, and professional in her personal presentation.

“She sets the tone of the lab with her personal example of respect and elegance,” the nominator said.

During her three years in the biology lab, Lewellen has work 383 hours preparing for student labs, conducting safety checks, demonstrating equipment and assisting the professor by answering questions and administering quizzes. She also organized the Sigma Zeta Kid’s College. This program provided science lab demonstrations for 130 local home-school children in biology, chemistry and physics.

The award is part of student worker appreciation week, a semi-annual week when Asbury College recognizes the hard work of its student employees. Asbury College has 705 student workers who have completed 116,149 hours this academic year.
