Asbury assists tornado victims at Union University

WILMORE, KY—When a tornado blew threw Union University in Jackson, Tenn., on Feb. 6, it destroyed residence halls, cars and the personal belongings of 700 students.

Now the Asbury College community is lending a helping hand to students at their sister institution. Union, like Asbury College, is a member of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities.

The Asbury community has raised nearly $1,500 in gift cards and is collecting clothing in the residence halls to be sorted and sent to Union University. On Friday, Feb. 15, a small team of students is heading to Jackson to deliver the collected items and assist with clean up at Union University.

Donations of clothing and gift cards can still be made Feb. 14. Please take gift cards to Fletcher-Early and clothing to the residence halls.
