College celebrates record-breaking enrollment
WILMORE, KY—The official numbers are in and fall enrollment is the highest in Asbury College’s history. The current total enrollment including undergraduate, graduate, Asbury Academy and Achieve students is 1381.
Previous high enrollments were 1359 in fall 2000 and 1353 in fall 2001. This year’s fall enrollment represents a 10.04 percent increase in total enrollment from fall 2006 and a 7.05 percent increase in undergraduate degree seeking students.
The College credits part of the increase to the highest freshman retention rate in the history of the College. Of last year’s freshman class, 87 percent returned to the campus for their sophomore year, which is higher than the national average for 4-year private colleges. The previous year’s rate was 79 percent.
In August, the College welcomed more than 400 new Asbury College students.
