His topic was Therapeutic Riding Programs, using the College’s program as an example. The College’s equine program seeks to involve equine students, recreation majors and community volunteers in programs reaching people with special needs in the community.

The College’s equine program was also presented the 2006 Outstanding Program Award by the Kentucky Recreation and Park Society at the Awards Lunch in Bowling Green.

The Equine Program is continuing to expand. In October, the College broke ground for the Harold Rainwater Riding Arena, a 120 x 180-foot indoor facility to open in January.
