Athletics inducts Hall of Fame

WILMORE, KY— Asbury College held the annual athletic awards ceremony—inducting the new Hall of Fame class Saturday, April 29 in the Luce Center.

The fourth Hall of Fame class included Barbara Ferrell ’69 Crouse, Tonya Maupin ’94 Webb and Jason Price ’00.

Barbara Ferrell ’69 Crouse impacted Asbury College athletics for more than 36 years—first as an athlete and then as coach of the women’s tennis teams and as the first coach of the swim team which she helped initiate.

Tonya Maupin ’94 Webb played four years of collegiate volleyball and is the only female athlete with a retired jersey hanging in the Luce Center. She is the career leader in matches played (155) and solo blocks (241).

Jason Price ’00 is the all-time leading scorer for men’s basketball with 2,865 points. His jersey was also retired. Price is an assistant men’s basketball coach for the College.

Each sport and several individual students were recognized for their season achievements.
