Personal
I am a veterinarian-turned-biology professor. One of my favorite parts of veterinary medicine was teaching clients about the health care of their animals, and that interest eventually grew into a passion for teaching science to college students.
My wife, Lynndy, is a nurse for an outpatient surgery center. My son, Luke, is a student here at Asbury with a major in Theatre and Cinema Performance and a minor in Piano Performance. Our cats, Purry and Thelma Lou, simply exist to be loved.
Professional
My primary interests are in anatomy and physiology. I’m equally fascinated by the spectacular and the trivial.
I work with Dr. Rrandall in a physiology lab at the University of Kentucky. We are investigating various health conditions and their effects on the neurological control of blood pressure and heart rate. These conditions include spinal cord trauma and diabetes mellitus.
Other Interests
I enjoy teaching a Sunday School class of mostly senior adults.
I enjoy theatre, music, books (favorite authors include: Anton Chekov, Thomas Hardy, Richard Foster, and Thomas Merton), movies, and TV shows from the 1960s and 1970s (favorites include: The Andy Griffith Show, Kung Fu, Star Trek, and The Waltons).
