Tim Johnson
Instructor
Timothy Johnson is the General Manager for Curnow Music Press. He received his B.A. in Music Education from Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky in 1979. While a student at Asbury College, he studied composition privately with James Curnow, and a number of his compositions were performed by the performing ensembles at the college. In 1985, Tim received his M.A. degree from the University of Illinois, where he was a graduate assistant in charge of the Teaching Techniques laboratory. Tim has also completed doctoral level classes in composition at the University of Kentucky. He is currently under contract with Curnow Music Press as an exclusive writer.
In his 17 years of teaching experience in the Jessamine County school system, Tim has taught on the elementary, middle school and high school levels. He also has three years of experience teaching on the college level. Additionally, he has been a church music director for 20 years (including both choral and instrumental music), during which time he has written many original sacred compositions.
Tim and his and his family live in Wilmore Kentucky.
